Observations:

June 2017 – Noesen logged a career-high 44 NHL contests, 32 with the Devils, totaling eight goals and two assists. Most frequently lining up with Pavel Zacha and Jacob Josephson, he squeezed decent production out of his 11:08 average ice time, impressively finishing with a plus-4 on a New Jersey squad sporting an Eastern Conference-worst minus-61 goal differential. A restricted free agent, if extended he should be a strong candidate for a supporting right wing role entering camp. Kevin Wickersham

February 2017 – Bouncing between Anaheim and their affiliates in San Diego and Norfolk the last three seasons, Noesen was waived in late January after 12 games with the Ducks and subsequently claimed by the Devils. In ten games since with New Jersey he has registered two goals and two assists, most frequently lining up with Pavel Zacha and Jacob Josefson. His AHL point production rate increased early this season, totaling six goals and nine assists in 22 games, for a 0.68 PPG average this campaign vs. 0.49 PPG in 2015-16. Not seeing much NHL ice time, averaging just over nine minutes per game. Kevin Wickersham

May 2016 – Noesen finally had a break out season, his third as a pro, playing in 65 games, scoring 10 goals and adding 22 assists. Noesen also displayed his ability to come in clutch by scoring three GWGs during the regular season and scoring seven points in nine playoff games. His first two years in the Anaheim organization were hindered by injuries, but the 23-year-old displayed glimpses of why he was selected 21st overall in the 2011 draft. If Noesen can stay healthy, expect him to take a big leap as he is starting to get his legs under him again and adapting to the pro game. Lucas Main

February 2016 – Noesen has been playing decent hockey for Ducks farm team the San Diego Gulls. He just surpassed his point total from last season (16 PTS), and is finally staying healthy, sitting at 18 points. There has been a lot of ups and downs throughout the career of Noesen, hopefully his game starts trending up and he stays in the lineup on a nightly basis. Bryan Puffer

December 2015 – Noesen has already matched the amount of games he appeared in last season (27), but is six points shy of his point total from the 2014-2015 season (16 PTS).  Anaheim is looking for much more production out of the 2011 draft pick; the three goals and seven assists he has posted up to this point in the season are not going to earn him a top-6 role with the Ducks anytime soon.  With injuries hampering development, time does not appear to be on the side of Noesen, who needs to start producing sooner rather than later. Bryan Puffer

November 2015 – Noesen missed much of the last two seasons thanks to a knee injury in 2013 and an Achilles injury in 2014. Playing just 30 games over the course of two years is not exactly ideal for development. A former top prospect and high-scoring junior player, Noesen is trying to get back on his feet with San Diego and is off to a slow start. Now 22, a failed season in 2015-16 likely punts any chance of a scoring-line NHL future. Dobber

October 2013 – Noesen's feared injury has been confirmed and the young forward will miss the remainder of the 2013-14 season with torn ligaments in his knee. Noesen was held pointless in the two games he was able to suit up in. Brendan Ross

October 2013 – According to a Ducks' report, Noesen has a 'significant' knee injury and is currently walking around in crutches. Noesen was recently acquired in the Bobby Ryan trade that saw him and Jakob Silfverberg join the Ducks. edit: It has been discovered that Noesen will be out for the season with a torn ACL and MCL. This definitely puts a dent in his fantasy value. Kevin Won

July, 2013 – On July 5th, Stefan Noesen was packaged with forward Jakob Silfverberg and a 2014 1st round pick (OTT) for star forward Bobby Ryan. He and Silfverberg enter a crowded young forward corps with guys like Etem, Smith-Pelly, Holland, Maroon, etc all waiting for their chance in the big league. Noesen finished with a respectable 53 points in 51 regular season games and 19 points (seven goals, 12 assists) in 15 playoff games with the Plymouth Whalers. He projects as a skilled power forward and will compete for a regular spot with the Norfolk Admirals next season. -Kevin Won

February 2013 – He has not had a strong start to 2013, since returning from his suspension Noesen has only posted six points in 10 games but half of that production came in a single game. He finished 2012 at a point per game pace, which is a regular pace we expect from him. Noesen also spent a week in Senators’ post-lockout camp. The Sens are continuing to grow older on their right side and will need replacements soon, Noesen could slide into a top nine role next season or at least be a very good depth option in the AHL. Jason Banks

December 2012 – Noesen ruled ineligible to play for Team USA due to OHL suspension, per the IIHF. Noesen received a 10-game suspension for the hit shown below – Dobber

December 2012 – Stefan Noesen was one of the 27 American players named to the USA Preliminary roster for the upcoming 2013 World Junior Championships. Noesen is one of several Plymouth Whalers that should be headed to Russia to compete in the WJC. Brendan Ross

February, 2012 – Stefan Noesen was one of the first few surprises at the 2011 NHL Entry draft when the Ottawa Senators used their second first round pick to take him twenty-first overall.  The decision to take the hard-working winger appears to be paying off.  Noesen, born in the football state of Texas, plays a smart intelligent game with a no-quit attitude.  Stefan Noesen possesses good hockey sense and competes hard every shift making him a good bet to become a contributing NHLer. If Noesen can develop into a top six winger Ottawa will be pleased but if not he will fit in nicely as a third line winger who is difficult to play against.  Noesen does not have blazing speed but he creates room for his teammates through his physical play and always seems to be around the puck.

Fantasy Outlook: C+

Noesen could develop into a fantasy-worthy winger in most leagues, especially deeper leagues. The big winger has untapped offensive skills, but is prone to injury.
