Observations:

June 2017 - The 2013 NHL entry draft saw a sharp drop off in the final third of the first round. Erne has progressed as well as any of his second-round peers, and the Lightning should be fine with that. Erne was overshadowed by other offensive weapons in the Crunch's run to the AHL final, showing that further development is necessary before he the Lightning can be confident in making him an NHLer. The grit in Erne's game will certainly be a catalyst in his development, however the winger is probably looking at an expanded role with the Crunch for the majority of next season, minus any emergency call-up's.  Brayden Olafson

January 2017 – The sophomore pro has shown some improvement in his second year with the Crunch. A four game call-up at the beginning of January didn’t come with the offensive production that the 21-year old would’ve hoped for, but that’s not to say he didn’t make an impression. He did show indications of a growing confidence in his pro-game with 7 shots and 15 hits in the four game stint. Be confident that he will get a better chance to stick once the Lightning begin to clear out some older blood. Brayden Olafson

May 2016- Adam Erne played his first professional season under the Tampa Bay Lightning organization with the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch after spending a junior career with the Quebec Ramparts in the QMJHL. Erne stuck to his guns and played his fast and hard-nosed game. Erne also showed great flashes of offensive potential by making plays with his quickness and puck skills. Although the final stats may not be as pleasing as one might want, this was a good developing season for Adam Erne. Max Marko

October 2014 - Erne attended Tampa Bay's training camp but didn't stay long. He can't play in the AHL yet due to age restrictions so he'll finish his junior career with Quebec(QMJHL) before becoming a pro next year. Randall Buschmann

February 2014 - Erne is enjoying his most productive stretch of the season yet with eight goals and 23 points in his last 14 games. He's currently a top two point producer for Quebec(QMJHL) and a top three goal scorer. The power forward in the making was also a member of Team USA at the World Junior Championship which ended last month, though the team didn't earn a medal. Even though Erne is in his third season of junior hockey he doesn't turn 19-years-old until April 20th. Erne made headlines back in December for a questionable hit on fellow Lightning prospect Jonathan Drouin. Randall Buschmann

October 2013 - Erne was returned to his junior team, the Quebec Ramparts, after a short but impressive stint during Tampa Bay's training camp. Erne made a big impact in the lone preseason game he suited for Tampa Bay, scoring two goals and delivering a big controversial hit on NHL veteran Vladimir Sobotka. As a result of the hit, Erne was suspended for three preseason games. Not long after, Tampa Bay reassigned Erne to juniors where he's expected to challenge as one of the leagues top scorers this season. Randy Buschmann

December 2012 – Adam Erne is making great strides in his draft year with 19 goals and 48 points along with 38 PIM in 36 games for Quebec of the QMJHL. He is a power forward who may need a few years of development but definitely possesses top-six upside. He is currently ranked 15th on Craig Button’s draft rankings and 19th on the ISS top-30 list. Eric Daoust

Fantasy Outlook: B

Good upside as a power forward with scoring ability, is close to making a fantasy contribution in the NHL after a solid first season in the AHL
