September 2016 - Adam Wilcox had a rather poor year in net this past season with the Syracuse Crunch, posting a 3.34 GAA and .891 SV%. With the Lightning taking yet another goalie in the draft this past June in Connor Ingram, Wilcox could see his time running short with the Tampa Bay Lightning organization. The terrific play of Andrei Vasilevskiy and Kristers Gudlevskis does not help his case either. Max Marko

June 2015 – A cousin of San Jose Sharks’ netminder Alex Stalock, Wilcox emulates Stalock by aggressively challenging shooters. Confident in his ability, Wilcox progressed nicely during three seasons at the University of Minnesota, signing a two-year entry-level contract with the Lightning in April. In 38 games with the Golden Gophers in his last season of college hockey, he had a 22-12-3 record that included six shutouts with a 2.42 GAA and .912 save percentage. The Gophers earned their second consecutive Big 10 regular-season title before falling 4-1 to Minnesota-Duluth in the northeast regional semi-finals. Wilcox made a brief, undistinguished pro debut with Tampa’s AHL affiliate in Syracuse, losing both late-season starts with the Crunch while posting a 3.18 GAA and .875 save percentage. Wilcox then stopped 14 of 15 shots in 32 minutes of relief in his lone post-season appearance. – Mark Allan

Fantasy Outlook: C

Wilcox has been inconsistent in his pro career this far, but with the goaltending depth Tampa has they can be patient with Wilcox in a backup role in the AHL for now.
