Observations:

January 2017 – Kerfoot hasn't lost a step since making the team out of camp, now up to 30 points in 41 games – good for 6th among rookies. he has cemented his spot in the lineup thanks to his excellent vision in the offensive zone and ability to play both at center and on the wing. He doesn't bring peripheral stats other than FOW, but he's a permanent top-six forward. Hayden Soboleski

October 2017 – Kerfoot has scored his first NHL goal, his second point in four NHL games. He had little trouble making the lineup out of camp thanks to his fantastic vision when passing the puck, and has been seeing regular minutes in the top-six serving as the left winger beside Duchene. This is an excellent place to be for fantasy value, and should allow him to rack up between 30-40 points as a rookie. He does have competition on the wing, so he'll have to keep playing well to avid being usurped by Landeskog or Wilson. Hayden Soboleski

August 2017- Kerfoot has passed on New Jersey and multiple other suitors to sign a two-year ELC with Colorado. He certainly has the opportunity to earn an NHL position this fall, but dont be surprised if a half-season or more of AHL seasoning comes first. His long-term outlook depends heavily on how other risky bottom-six players like Yakupov, Colbourne, and Nieto play, as its possible none are with the team next season. Kerfoot is not going to become a fantasy stud by any means, but he has leadership experience and Hobey-Baker nominee prestige, and a year of very good NCAA numbers. If his recent success translates to pro, then the Avs have done well. Hayden Soboleski

April 2017 – Kerfoot's impressive 2016-17 campaign closed as his second-ranked Harvard squad bowed out of the Frozen Four Tournament after dropping their semifinal contest to eventual runner-up Minnesota-Duluth. His 16 goals and 30 assists with a 1.24 points-per-game average put him in the top-20 nationwide in overall scoring, and 12 goals and 18 assists in conference play tied for fifth In the ECAC scoring race. He also finished tied for fifth in the conference in points-per-game average (1.15). A finalist for the Hobey Baker award and the Crimson's co-captain, Kerfoot's blend of skill and leadership bodes well as he goes on to pursue professional play. Kevin Wickersham

February 2017 – Helping lead the Crimson to their 11th Beanpot championship and first since 1993, Kerfoot remains a force for Harvard on the power play and at even strength. With Harvard currently projected to be the number-one seed in the NCAA Tournament, Kerfoot will likely get a chance to gain further experience on a big stage, which may help accelerate his development. New Jersey would love to see him continue to produce anywhere near his team-high, and 1.24 points-per-game pace (11 G, 20 A, 25 games) at the next level. Kevin Wickersham

November 2016 – Kerfoot, now a senior and co-captain of the Harvard squad, continues to dish out assists in impressive numbers, including tallying four against Bentley November 26, as he currently leads the Crimson in scoring nine games into the 2016-17 campaign (3G, 10A). Kevin Wickersham

June 2016 – Kerfoot led Harvard University in assists (30) in his junior season and finished second in points with 34. He centered the team's first line alongside Jimmy Vesey and Kyle Criscuolo. Kerfoot is a strong skater – quick with lots of speed and agility. He's got quick hands and good moves in one-on-ones. He handles the puck well in tight spaces but still needs to get much stronger to be an effective scorer at the pro level. Also, his shot could use some work going forward. Marco Bombino

Fantasy Outlook: B

Kerfoot has the offensive skills and skating ability to become a decent NHLer but also has some obstacles, including a modest shot and below-average physical game.
