Observations:

June 2015 – Darcy split his 2014-15 season in the QMJHL between Cape Breton and Sherbrooke, adding yet another team to his long hockey resume. In 58 games he scored a combined 59 points (21 goals, 28 assists) and 48 PIM on the year, capped off with an impressive nine points in six playoff games with Sherbrooke. His offensive totals were a respectable follow-up to his 2013-14 draft year (82 points in 65 games - leading his team), and earned him a three-year entry-level contract with the Tampa Bay organization. Darcy will add scoring depth to the AHL roster next season, but is low on the depth chart and has a ways to go before challenging for an NHL position.

Darcy’s path began with the US National Development team from 2010-2012, where he won gold as part of the U18 World Junior Championship team in 2012. He briefly played college hockey for Northeastern before moving on to the USHL for the 2012-13 season where he netted 31 points and 40 PIM in 45 games. Finally, the last two seasons have been spent excelling in the QMJHL, first in Cape Breton and most recently for Sherbrooke. Darcy plays a good all-around game and has not had troubles adjusting to new environments throughout his career. Once his skating improves and he becomes familiar with the AHL game Darcy should be a reliable depth option for the organization. Hayden Soboleski
