Observations:

December 2016 – Cameron Hughes is first and foremost a skilled pivot with soft hands. Hughes projects as a scoring center but still has some years of seasoning ahead of him. After producing fairly well for the University of Wisconsin over the last three years, Hughes needs to take a step forward with both his offensive output and his defensive play before he’ll get a look at the NHL level. Through 82 total games for the Wisconsin Badgers, Hughes has potted 10 goals and 41 assists but has also gone minus 41 over that same period. In that regard, Hughes has not taken a step forward this year and is already minus 13 through just 16 games played. Mike Drover

Fantasy Outlook: C

Sixth rounder with good tools. Will take a significant amount of time to develop and may or may not turn into a legitimate NHL center. Hughes needs to be better on the defensive side of the puck.
