Observations:

April 2017 – Shore finished the season with 13 goals and 20 assists, capping a productive year for the rookie. A 32-point campaign will give him a good chance of earning a top-six role next year. He is a versatile player, he’s played just about everywhere for the Stars. Started the year playing center, and ended as a playmaking winger. Shore showed potential playing alongside Faksa, and even played on the Benn-Seguin line toward the end of the season. Shore is a nice young player for the Stars, and was their most productive rookie forward. –Matt Kowalski

November 2016 – Devin Shore has had to fill in for the Stars due to the several injuries the team was dealing with. His production has slowed lately, but has shown great scoring ability. If he were to find some consistency with scoring he would likely find a top-six role. Keep an eye on Shore, the Stars value what he has brought to the team. –Matt Kowalski

September 2016 – Shore sustained an injury during practice and it looks like he will be out for a while. It’s worth noting that his season ended early last December with a shoulder injury. It’s unclear if he reinjured the same ailment. Let’s hope it’s not that serious, but a tough break for Devin Shore, as he was positioned to see some NHL minutes this season. Matt Kowalski

 

August 2016 – Shore is coming off a tough shoulder injury that ended his season, and it remains unclear how he will rebound. His career in the AHL was starting to really take off and the Stars will hope he can pick up where he left off in December. So far all signs look promising as he looked fine in camp this summer.Matt Kowalski

December 2015 – Shore will miss the rest of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery. It's a tough break for Shore as he was having a phenomenal season with 15 goals and 26 points in 23 games and earning AHL Player of the Month honours for October. He even got his first taste of NHL action with a three game stint in November.  Look for him to make a strong push for a roster spot with the big club in the fall. Brad Phillips

December 2015 – It was a tough game for Shore on Friday against the Charlotte Checkers. Not only did his 10 game point streak come to an end, Shore suffered an undisclosed injury that will keep him out of the line-up for four to six weeks. At the time of his injury Shore sat second in the AHL with 26 points and first in goals with 15. Brad Phillips

 

November 2015 – It's been a banner week for Shore. In the span of three days, he received the call up to the big leagues, was named AHL Player of the Month thanks to eight goals and three assists in eight game, and made his NHL debut. He hasn't managed to find the score sheet thus far but based on his track record the points are sure to follow. Brad Phillips

 

October 2015 – Shore has come out of the gate guns a blazin' firing six goals through the first three games of the season, thanks in large part to a ridiculous 66.7% shooting percentage. More of a playmaker than a pure sniper while at Maine, Shore has seemingly flipped the script potting 10 goals through his first 22 professional games. If he keeps this up, his time in Cedar Park will be short lived. Brad Phillips

 

September 2015 – Upon signing his entry level deal, Shore was assigned to Texas to finish up the AHL season. In 19 regular seasons games Shore potted four goals along with two assists and added one goal in three playoff games. In the recent Traverse City tournament, Shore recorded one goal and one assist in four games displaying some soft hands to go along with his excellent combination of size and speed. The former Maine Black Bears captain he will probably spend the whole year in the AHL to get acclimated to the longer schedule. However Shore did spent the summer training with guru Gary Roberts and other fitness freaks like Steven Stamkos and Phil Kessel so he should be well prepared. Brad Phillips

 

March 2015 – Dallas Stars GM Jim Nill announced on March 10th that the team has signed Devin Shore to a three-year entry level contract. The 20-year-old Shore recently completed his junior season at the University of Maine scoring 14 goals and 35 points in 39 games. As a collegiate player, Shore is clipping along at nearly a point-per-game with 104 points in 112 games and has a Second Team All-American honour in his pocket after a strong 2013-14 season. Shore was also named to the Hockey East First Team in 2013-14. Brendan Ross 

 

July 2014 – Shore has taken his game to a new level and is dominating one of the toughest divisions in the NCAA. He posted 43 points in 35 games as a 19 year old playing against players that were on average two years older than him. There are no caveats about his size or skating ability either; there seems to be little reason not to project him as one of the Star's best forward prospects. December 2013 – Shore registered five points (one goal, four assists) as the University of Maine defeated American International, 7-1, on December 13. Through 16 games, he ranks 8th among scorers in Hockey East with 19 points (seven goals, 12 assists) and currently rides a seven game point streak dating back to Nov. 15. Clayton Bailey

 

November 2013 – Shore began the season unable to record a point through the first three games with the University of Maine (Hockey East). He's since rebounded by tallying seven points (two goals, five assists) over the last seven games, including a goal and an assist in Maine's 7-0 route against Boston University on Nov. 15. April 2013 – Devin wrapped up his first season of NCAA hockey with the Univ. of Maine, leading the Black Bears in scoring. Shore finished with six goals and 20 assists and played in all 38 of his team's games. He also saw time in both powerplay(two goals) and penalty kill(one shorthanded goal) situations. Rex Doty

 

October, 2012 – Shore was one of the younger players in this year’s draft, but that didn’t stop the Dallas Stars from choosing him in the second-round, 61^st overall. Shore has keen vision and quick hands, making him a natural playmaker. He has good hockey sense, which usually puts him in a good position at both ends of the ice and he makes his linemates better. Shore is beginning his freshman season at the University of Maine after compiling 58 points in 41 games for Whitby last year. His skating could improve, and if it does he will be a star for the Black Bears.

 

 

Fantasy Outlook:  B+

A great start to his pro career is putting him on the fast track for a roster spot. Should be on the team by 2016-17 and on the second line within a year or two after that.
