Observations:

April 2018 – After playing out his ELC with the Syracuse Crunch, Blujus was not renewed by the Lightning for the 2017-18 season. Rather, the 2012 second-round selection joined Vancouver's farm system on an amateur contract and played out the season between the Utica Comets and the Jacksonville IceMen. His second-round draft pedigree appears as if it will never amount to what was once expected by the Lightning brass. Brayden Olafson

 

June 2017 – The 2012 second-round pick was a safe pick coming out of his draft. A couple of modest seasons with the Crunch have the right-hander well on his way to becoming an AHL journeyman though, as he's slowly begun to lose ground on other Lightning defense prospects who possess leverage in the form of youth. Blujus remains a solid defensive prospect whose value could peak in the case of NHL injuries. The Lightning should qualify him this offseason, but if they don't, expect him to get a look with an organization that has less depth on defense. Brayden Olafson

 

September 2016 – Dylan Blujus, who is coming up on his third season with the Lightning, is looking to make his NHL debut soon. The two-way defenseman will need to work on his defensive zone coverage and physical play along the boards before he can be considered an NHL regular, but his shot from the point and offensive zone awareness alone could earn him a call up at some point during the 2016-2017 regular season. February 2014 – Blujus is finishing out what will likely be his last season of junior hockey and looks to be rounding out into form as the second half of season marches on. After starting the year somewhat slow and inconsistent in terms of point production,  the former second round pick has recorded 10 points and has a plus/minus rating +18 in his last 12 games. Tampa Bay still hasn't signed Blujus to his entry-level contract and must do so by the upcoming June 1st deadline or they lose his rights. Expect Steve Yzerman to have the mobile, two-way defenseman inked soon and starting his first professional season in Syracuse this fall. Very likely several years away from being in contention for a roster spot in Tampa Bay. Randall Buschmann

 

April 2013 – Blujus capped his third season with the Battalion once again leading the backend with 2G-27A-29PTS totals. Not only was he their leader throughout the regular season but he also led the attack from the back end with 2G-2A-4PTS while losing out to the Sudbury Wolves in five games during the first round Eastern Conference Quarter-finals. Mr. Dependable for Brampton will be taking his talents to North Bay next year as relocation takes place for the 2013-14 season before making the jump to pro. Travis Watson

 

February 2013 – Ever since his arrival in Brampton, Dylan Blujus has been rock solid on the back end for the Battalion making an immediate impact by not only putting up points but helping shutdown opposing top lines. Blujus is more known for his defensive abilities but once again is leading the Battalion back line in scoring for the second consecutive season. Still only 19, he has plenty of time to grow into his frame to help with the daily grind and constant battles of the life defensemen endure. Travis Watson

 

Fantasy Outlook: C-

Blujus has solid offensive skills and is a player to watch as he progresses over the next few years. For now, Blujus should not be own in most fantasy formats.
