Observations:

August 2017 - Sadowy's rookie season in the AHL didn't exactly go as planned. He failed to earn a full time spot with the Griffins and managed just four goals and six points in 38 games played. The Griffins won the Calder Cup in June but unfortunately Sadowy was a healthy scratch during their playoff journey. In six games with the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL Sadowy had more success and registered four points. The Griffins' head coach, Todd Nelson, knows that they have to be patient with Sadowy. Shawn Horcoff, Detroit's Director of player development, had this to say about the young forward, "It is going to be a big summer for him. He didn’t have the year he wanted to have last year, but you can see his ability to shoot the puck. For me, it is going to be to get him in better shape and get his foot speed up. He’s got an excellent shot, good release, and he can score." Jameson Ewasiuk

May 2016 - Dylan Sadowy was traded to the Detroit Red Wings for a 2017 third round draft pick. Sadowy would have reentered the NHL draft in 2016 as the Sharks were unable to sign the two-time 40 goal scorer. Shortly after acquiring the 2014 second round pick, the Red Wings were able to sign Sadowy to his Entry Level Contract. Sadowy has steadily progessed and will make the jump to the AHL in Grand Rapids next year to begin his career as a pro.

February 2016 – Sadowy has performed quite well since his trade from Saginaw to the Barrie Colts. The two-way winger has scored 13 goals in 10 games since the move and currently has 49 points in 46 total games. Sadowy has built a strong reputation as a reliable player, however his speed and offensive creativity are becoming more apparent in this, his third OHL campaign. Cam Robinson

November, 2015 - Sadowy has picked up right where he left off last season, dominating the OHL on a nightly basis. The 19-year-old winger has racked up 17 points in just 12 games for the Saiginaw Spirit. He currently sits just outside of the top-ten scorers at number 12. Sadowy was recently suspended four games for punching an opponent from the bench after the player scored a shootout goal. - Cam Robinson

September 2015 - Sadowy was returned to the Saiginaw Spirit of the OHL. After taking a major leap forward last season, the Spirit's assistant captain will try and continue to build his two-way game, in hopes of making a strong impression on the Team Canada brass heading into the December selection camp.  - Cam Robinson

July 2015 - Dylan Sadowy took a big leap forward in his development playing on a mediocre Saginaw Spirit team. He finished as the team's leading scorer with 42 goals and 32 assists for 74 points, in addition to being named the team’s Most Valuable Player. This all-situations player is challenging the notion that he will be a bottom six forward at the NHL level. Sadowy is one of 40 players invited to Team Canada’s WJC-20 Summer Camp but may find it difficult to crack the deep roster. Cam Robinson

June 2014 - The San Jose Sharks selected Dylan Sadowy 81st overall at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Brendan Ross

June 2014 – Saginaw Spirit forward Dylan Sadowy isn’t getting the publicity that others are heading towards the 2014 NHL Entry Draft but he’s the type of player that every coach wants on his roster. Sadowy is an industrious forward willing to do whatever it takes to win. He’s competitive, intelligent and understands the soft spots of the ice. Capable of playing in all situations, Sadowy doesn’t necessarily excel in any one area but rather is good at a lot of aspects of the game. Look for Sadowy to start receiving consideration starting in the second round of the 2014 NHL Draft and he could fall anywhere through the middle rounds. Brendan Ross

Fantasy Outlook: C

Potential bottom six forward with a strong work ethic and the ability to chip in with a bit of offence.
