Observations:

June 2016 – Looks like time ran out for Shore with the Flames. When opportunities presented themselves, Shore seemed to never be the first choice. Calgary chose to not extend him a qualifying offer.  – Joel Henderson

Mar 2016 – Shore has not lost any of the intangibles which made him NHL relevant. He has been consistent in his two-way game, but others seem to have passed him on the depth chart which offer the same tool kit. He continues to contribute at the AHL level but time may be running out on Shore for NHL games. – Joel Henderson

Sept 2015 – Shore has been placed on waivers. Too many contracts currently in Calgary and Drew is seemingly on the outside for now. – Joel Henderson

July 2015 – Drew has accepted a qualifying offer from the Calgary Flames He only managed to dress in a dozen games for the big club and now requires waivers if he is to be sent down to the AHL. His presence in the lineup was important since he could play either centre or the right wing, and it seems he will be among a few bodies battling for playing time during training camp. Joel Henderson

January 2015 – The Florida Panthers have traded Drew Shore to the Calgary Flames in exchange for Corban Knight.  After appearing in 35 games for the AHL San Antonio Rampage, Shore amassed 30 points.  He has been sent to the AHL Adirondack Flames and immediately becomes their top scorer.  He will have a similar issue of depth at centre with the Flames, but certainly not as much of a logjam as he was battling in the Panthers organization. One more game in the NHL makes him wavier eligible. Lee Rayson

December 2014 – Shore posted a two-point night December 9th versus the Chicago Wolves. Following that game he stands at 24 points in 23 games to lead San Antonio in scoring and iis n a tie for fourth in league scoring.  Those two points extend him to a seven-game point streak where he has 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in that span.  Shore is looking to earn another opportunity at the NHL level.  In his two previous seasons he produced a modest 20 points in 67 games at the NHL level with the Panthers. Lee Rayson

June 2014 – Shore played 24 games with the Panthers before being sent down to San Antonio. He earned 32 points during 50 games in the AHL, finishing fourth on the team in points. Shore was one of three Florida Panthers prospects representing team USA at the World Championships; he finished the tournament with one goal and one assist while playing in all eight games. Shore has gained some valuable experience playing in the NHL, AHL and World Championships in 2014. Expect Shore to compete for a depth spot in the Panthers lineup come next season. Jake Patterson

March 2014 – On March 5th, Shore was returned to the AHL in favour of Vincent Trocheck, who has had a far superior season for the Rampage. This is probably best for the long term development of Shore. Nathan Kanter

February 2014 – With the Barkov injury, Panthers management decided to summon Shore from the AHL over Trocheck. Shore had previously been with the Panthers for 12 games in January 2014 and had four goals and one assist in 12 games. In his first NHL game post-Olympics, Shore scored a goal and played over 15 minutes, included four-and-a-half on the man advantage. It appears they are going to give him the same opportunity that Barkov got, at least for now. Nathan Kanter

February 2014 – Shore has been up and down again this season between the Panthers and Rampage. Simply put, he hasn't been very good. The totals to this point are five points in 17 NHL games and 17 points in 31 AHL games. Last season he had 30 points in just 41 AHL games. Since being re-assigned to the AHL in early February he does have two goals in three games but that sample size is way too small to make anything of. If you own him hold onto him and stash him away in the minors, as you won't get much in a trade and he clearly still needs AHL seasoning. Nathan Kanter

December 2013 – Shore still hasn't scored a goal yet this AHL season with just nine assists through 21 games. Nathan Kanter

November 2013 – Shore has put together a four-game point streak but still only has seven points in 14 AHL games and will need to do more if he's to get a call-up. Nathan Kanter

November 2013 – Shore only played two regular season games for the Panthers before being returned to the Rampage (AHL). There is clearly a logjam of young talent up front for Florida so Shore's struggles (two points in seven AHL games) are not good for owners who expected him to build off a solid rookie campaign. He'll most likely see some time with Florida at some point this season, but right now things don't look good. Nathan Kanter

October 2013 – Shore has made the Panthers 23-man opening day roster. He is currently not likely to receive top-six minutes to start the season but could work his way there as the season progresses. A quick start will help him going forward though and he should still see powerplay time. Nathan Kanter

March 2013 – March has seen Shore go cold with just 1 assist in 11 games and a minus-5 rating. The cold streak is simply a sign of growing pains for the 22-year old rookie as he continues to adjust to the NHL game. During March he is still receiving top-six minutes at almost 18 minutes per game. Nathan Kanter

February 2013 – Shore collected his first NHL point, assisting on a Peter Mueller goal, on the 3rd. He has been impressive since being called up, creating offensive and being around the puck. Playing in Florida's top six will surely get you talented linemates, so he should be on your prospect radar. Rich Dillon

January 2013 – After the Florida Panthers put Kris Versteeg on IR, the team recalled Drew Shore from San Antonio.  The former second round pick has had good success in the AHL scoring 30 points in 40 games. He will be challenged to find ice-time or get into the lineup on a deep Panthers' forward corps but this recall bodes well for his confidence and future. Brendan Ross

December 2012 – Shore has been far and away the best skater on the San Antonio roster. Any question of his NHL readiness has been put to rest. If there's a spot available, he'll take it. He may even take a spot regardless. Dobber

August 2012 – Shore signed an entry-level contract with the Panthers and will battle for a spot on the roster this fall. He will play in the AHL if he fails to make the team right away. Rich Dillon

February 2012 – Shore has steadily improved since being drafted in 2009 by the Panthers. He plays an impressive physical game, and has taken a big leap forward in 2011-12 amassing 41 points in his first 29 games for Denver University. Projects as a solid two-way third liner, with a top six ceiling if he continues to improve his offense. Rich Dillon

Fantasy Outlook: C+

A large scorer who has proven himself at the AHL level, Shore may take a while to get up to speed but he still should be considered an NHL depth option.
