Observations:

July 2017 – As is often the case with college players Dudek, entering his junior year at Boston College, will not participate in Devils’ Development Camp this week. With an increasing number of promising forward prospects, particularly centers in the New Jersey pipeline, there is no great rush. Kevin Wickersham

March 2017 - With Boston College's season coming to an end after falling to University of Massachusetts Lowell in the Hockey East Tournament title game, we can see Dudek's final sophomore season totals (13 G, 9 A in 40 games) far surpass his freshman year statistics (1 G, 2 A in 34 games). His increased playing time, including a move to the Eagles' point on the power play resulting in two PP goals vs. Vermont in the quarterfinals, show the program's faith in him and should lead to an even greater role in 2017-18. Kevin Wickersham

January 2017 – Now a sophomore at Boston College, Dudek is earning greater playing time in his second year as an Eagle and is currently tied for second on his squad in goals with ten in 28 games. His 74 shots ranks third on the team. Several scouts consider him possessing elite-level hockey skills, including highly impressive skating ability. He is a true team player who makes smart decisions with the puck to help set up scoring chances for line mates and displays sharp on-ice vision. Dudek could stand to increase his strength and skating speed, but as several coaches have praised his work ethic one hopes these will come in time. While not overly physical, Dudek is adept at protecting and fighting for the puck along the boards and in corners. His future development is in the good hands of legendary BC Coach Jerry York, and he comes from a strong athletic family, as his father Joe is a former Heisman Trophy finalist and NFL running back. Fantasy Outlook: B

Dudek has promise as a hockey-smart offensive threat with a solid work ethic. In a few years may develop as a contributing member of a scoring line at the NHL level.
