Observations:

May 2017 - Tammela sat out the 2016-17 OHL season with the Peterborough Petes due to damage to a patella tendon. The Petes were contenders, and could have benefited from his offense in their playoff endeavors, however the 2015 draft pick will have to wait until the fall to see ice time and determine where he fits in the Lightning's development plans. Brayden Olafson

September 2016 - The Peterborough Petes selected Jonne Tammela 15th overall in the 2015 CHL Import Draft last June. Early reports this season are Tammela will be reporting to Petes camp this season instead of returning to Liiga. This will give team scouts a break, as they will be taking shorter flights from Tampa to check in on their 2015 4th rounder. Tammela has the OHL pace of play in his system already. He plays fast and carries a skilled stick. Now he just needs to hone his two-way talents. Max Marko

April 2016 - Jonne Tammela signed a three-year, entry level contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning on April 1st. Tammela finished the year with five goals and eight assists in 37 games with KalPa in the Finnish league. The small, but fast winger has played very well during international tournaments. Tammela has 17 goals and 33 assists during international junior games. His CHL rights are owned by the Peterborough Petes who selcted him 15th overall in the 2015 CHL Import Draft. Max Marko

Fantasy Outlook: C-

Tammela has yet to convert to the smaller, North American ice. His speed is above average, but his physical and defensive play is subpar.
