Fantasy Summary

Originally when signed, Pederson looked to have more of a bottom-six player upside but he has been very impressive in the AHL and could offer more.

July 2023 – Pederson signed as a free agent with the Edmonton Oilers. Peter Harling

July 2022 – Lane Pederson has been traded to the Carolina Hurricanes along with Brent Burns for Steven Lortentz, Eetu Makiniemi, and a third-round pick. Donesh Mazloum

May 2022 – Pederson continues to be a point per game player at the AHL level and spent the year split between the Barracuda and Sharks, adding two asssists in 29 games with the big club. Pederson could be considered a bit of a tweener as the offence has so far not followed him to the NHL level. He’s a late bloomer so there may still be more offence for him to unlock but he’ll likely never be a consistent point producer. Donesh Mazloum

July 2021- Pederson has been traded to the San Jose Sharks for a 2024 fourth-round pick. Keith Duggan

July 2021- The 2020-21 season saw Pederson split the year between Arizona and Tucson. Just like in past campaign’s, he was one of the best players on the Roadrunners, racking up seven goals and 17 points in 16 games for a weak Tucson club. Pederson made his NHL debut with Arizona hitting injury issues, scoring his first big league goal in game number one. Unfortunately, the offense didn’t continue with him putting up two assists in the next 14 games but Pederson proved he could play at the NHL level. Keith Duggan

March 2021- Pederson has gotten off to a hot start, currently fifth in AHL scoring and has been in the top-ten since play began this season. He has five goals and 15 points in 10 games just a few tally’s off leading the league in scoring. As the Coyotes scoring woes continue, Pederson could see a call-up to the big club. Keith Duggan

January 2021- It was expected that Pederson could possibly earn a roster spot on the Coyotes this year. Instead, with the season starting, he was placed on waivers, going unclaimed and will begin the campaign in the AHL for Tucson. Keith Duggan

May 2020- If not for a lower-body injury derailing Pederson’s second half of the season, he was well on his way to another excellent year. He finished the campaign with 16 goals and 34 points in 37 games. That was a big slowdown from his nearly goal-per-game pace he was at the first quarter of the year. Pederson seems ready for the next step and with the Coyotes looking to shed salary, and him coming off his entry-level contract, 2020-21 could be his opportunity. Keith Duggan

November 2019- Looking for a dark horse prospect? Lane Pederson could be your man. He lead his AHL team Tucson in goals and points last season and now this year is off to a sizzling start. Pederson is currently third in goals in the AHL with nine in 11 games and is also fourth in points with 14. Add in 15 PIM’s and you have yourself a prospect to keep an eye on. Keith Duggan

October 2019- Off to a strong start this season, Pederson keeps his accession up the Coyotes prospect depth chart. He had a very strong camp with Arizona but due to a numbers game found himself in Tucson for a third year. As the Coyotes continue to struggle scoring, Pederson could see a call-up soon though as the young pivot starts 2019-20 with four goals in three games. Keith Duggan

June 2019- Pederson stepped up big in his second year of pro. He led Tucson in goals with 23 and points at 47 and was a leader for the team on and off the ice. Expected to be more of a support, bottom-six center for Tucson, to lead the team in goals and points bodes well for a possible NHL future. If injuries hit the Coyotes, expect Pederson to get a call-up to the big club but fantasy wise he probably wont’ be a big producer. Keith Duggan

March 2018- Pederson has pretty much been as advertised in his first pro season, a solid bottom-six forward who can move up the lineup and play more minutes if necessary. With Tucson at full capacity right now, he’s firmly the fourth-line center but earlier in the season when injuries and call-up’s hit the team he moved up, even playing on the first-line for a little while. Pederson’s offence has been solid, 10 goals and 19 points in 47 games and not surprisingly he been a very good penalty-killer for Tucson. Keith Duggan

April 2017- Lane Pederson has been on the move in his WHL career, playing for three different teams in four seasons, but his consistent production caught the eye of the Coyotes. He came to the Coyotes rookie camp this past summer on an amateur tryout and became the second player after Jalen Smereck to earn an entry-level contract with the team. Pederson just finished his last and most productive season in the WHL, racking up 25 goals and 65 points in 62 games for the Swift Current Broncos. He’s a hard-working center who plays a strong 200-foot game and looks to be more of a bottom six forward at the next level. With other centers like Ryan MacInnis, Laurent Dauphin and Tyler Gaudet, he’ll have some stiff competition for one of those spots. Keith Duggan
