January 2017 - Ryan Pulock has played one game for the big club this year, and unfortunately missed some time with a foot injury. With Bridgeport this season the talented blueliner amassed nine points in 15 games. He is definitely part of the Islanders plan in the future to be a top four defenseman for the big club one day. Ryan has a big shot, and could be a power play option down the road. He will need to improve his skating and continue to round out his defensive game. It is reasonable to think that if he plays the rest of the season in Bridgeport as a key contributor, then he will be ready for full time duty next year with the Islanders. It is also within reach for Pulock to head to Bridgeport, get his conditioning back up, and then return to the NHL. Kevin Pedersen

January 2016 - Pulock was named to the AHL all-star team as he has 17 points in 36 games and is tied for third in team scoring. He has played as much as possible this season as he works to improve his play in his own zone, but thankfully maintains the top spot on the powerplay. Fans have wondered why Pulock has not been called up as the Islanders deal with injuries on the back end and one would assume it is because management wants him to play as many minutes as he can in the AHL to push his develpment. Pat Quinn

Nov 2015 – Pulock has been playing very well for the Sound Tigers putting up eight points in 12 games and quarterbacking their powerplay with his tremendous shot. He still needs some improvement on the defensive side of his game but that will come in time. Pulock will likely spend the majority of the season in the AHL but expect to see him full-time next season. Pat Quinn

Oct 2015 - Pulock looks to have made the Islanders final roster for now. He will at least have a few games to prove himself as the powerplay spots are currently taken and there is no use wasting a depth spot on Pulock. Pulock and his shot have stood out very well during exhibition play, and if he is not up the entire season this season expect him to be next. Pat Quinn

March 2015 – Pulock is having a Cy Young season for the Sound Tigers with 15 goals and only eight assists in 45 games. He is their top powerplay option on the backend, has good size, and obviously a very good shot. He has had some injury trouble this season so far, but nothing of worry for his future. With both him and Reinhart coming up for the Islanders they are in very good shape. He should eventually become their top option on the powerplay. Pat Quinn

October 2014 - Pulock has been assigned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL. He was one of the two final cuts along with Anders Lee. Brad Wilson

September 2014 - Ryan Pulock made history in an exhibition game against the New Jersey Devils when he scored the opening goal 8:21 into the first period on a power play. It was the first ever on Barclays Center Ice. Pulock's blast has become his trademark as he tries to crack a young and inspired Islanders team, "My slap shot is a weapon I like to use. I try to get it off as much as possible." Brad Wilson

May 2014 - Pulock finished the year with a career best 23 goals and 63 points. After posting 4 points in 9 playoff games with the Wheat Kings, he joined the AHL Sound Tigers for the final three games of their season. He had an assist, two penalty minutes and was a minus-1. Brad Wilson

March 2014 - Pulock has carried his successful season into the playoffs. The Wheat Kings are up two games to zero and Pulock is doing his part to push the team over the top. He currently has two goals and four points in the two opening playoff games. Brad Wilson

March 2014 - Ryan Pulock broke a 35 year-old Wheat Kings record for goals by a defenseman when he netted his 21st of the season tonight (March 1st). It was his 62nd goal in his four years with the Kings. The record was previously held by former Kings all-star Brad McCrimmon who set the record at 61 in 1979 during his third season with the team. McCrimmon is the Kings all time leading scorer with 279 points in 203 games. Captain Pulock currently sits at 202 points in 254 regular season games. Brad Wilson

January 2014 - Pulock continues to have a strong year as Captain of the Brandon Wheat Kings. He is currently clipping along at a point per game pace while ranking third in team scoring. He is well on his way to being ready to turn pro next season. Brad Wilson

Decemeber 2013 - Pulock was left off the team Canada roster for the WJC. Canada is very deep on defense and although Pulock would be an asset, he won't be called on for this tournament. Brad Wilson

November 2013 - Pulock has been stellar thus far for the Wheat Kings. He leads all team defense in points with 21 and has sent eight pucks to the back of the net as well. Look for the captain to continue his tear in what will be his final year as a junior player. Brad Wilson

October 2013 – Pulock got off to a fiery start to the 2013-14 WHL season as he factored in on all four goals in Brandon’s 4-3 opening night victory over the Edmonton Oil Kings. In his first two games back with his junior club he has posted six points, including two goals. Expect a big season from the Wheat Kings captain. Brad Wilson

October 2013 – As expected, Pulock was sent back to the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL at the conclusion of the NHL preseason. Watch for Pulock to serve as the Wheat Kings captain once more as well as join Canada in the World Junior tournament this Christmas. Brad Wilson

September 2013 - The Islanders have a need for a defenseman with Pulock’s pedigree after the departure of Streit; however, the 15th pick in the 2013 draft is likely slotted for at least one more season as the captain of the Brandon Wheat Kings in the WHL. Pulock is also expected to pull on a team Canada jersey for the 2013/14 World Junior Hockey Championship this coming Christmas. Brad Wilson

December 2012 – Ryan Pulock is a smart, two-way defenseman with a cannon of a slap shot. Pulock came into this season as one of the top defenseman in the entire WHL and he has continued to produce. The Brandon Wheat Kings captain has 29 points in 30 games this year. Pulock’s smart game mixed with his versatility and overall skill set should translate well at the next level. He could definitely improve on the physical aspect of his game and make better use of his good frame. Despite not being invited to try out for Team Canada’s World Junior squad, he will play for Team Cherry next month at the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. Zenon Herasymiuk
