Observations:

January 2018 - In his sophomore season at Wiscinsin his offensive production has dipped somewhat but Frederic is sporting an A on his jersey as he has a larger role with the team. Frederic was also named to the USA World Junior team where he helped them capture the Bronze Medal with a hat-trick in the Bronze Medal game displaying his offensive upside. - Peter Harling

June 2017 - Frederic had a successful season for the University of Wisconsin. Scoring 15 goals and adding 18 assists in 30 games played, Trent showed some fantastic offensive prowess after some questioned his draft position at 29th overall. Frederic is a big forward and he plays hard. Growing up, Frederic idolized David Backes and Boston hopes to have a player here with similar impact. Frederic will probably not make his way to the Bruins this season but he looks to be a fine addition to the Bruins middle depth for the near future. Mike Drover

June 2016 – In a surprising move to some, the Bruins took Frederic near the end of the first round in the 2016 entry draft. Frederic has good size for his age and possesses some silky smooth mitts, which he’s shown off for the U.S. National U17 and U18 teams. Frederic’s stickhandling and shooting abilities led him to a 20-20 season for the U.S. National Team last year and to a seven-point performance in as many games during the World Junior Championship. Frederic is a responsible two-way player and can be an effective penalty-killer for the Bruins in the future. Frederic projects as a future mid-line forward in the NHL but will need to continue to work on his skating to be effective. It seems as though the Bruins are looking for a David Bolland-type player with this pick. Michael Drover

Fantasy Outlook: C

Good size for a center prospect but lacks the offensive flair to be a top-notch prospect for fantasy purposes. Frederic will likely fill a defensive role for the Bruins in the future while chipping in a respectable amount of offense.
