Observations:

January 2018 - After a terrific end to last season in the OHL, Foegele has made the jump to the AHL fairly seamelessly. His 27 points are tied for second among Checkers players this season, and are sixth among rookie scorers in the league. Always dangerous on the penalty kill, Foegele has struck four times shorthanded this season, a number that is tops in the AHL. With 17 goals on 70 shots, the young forward's shooting percentage isn't sustainable, but showing this type of offensive dimension in the first thirty games of his professional career is certainly encouraging.  Kevin LeBlanc

May 2017 - Foegele has taken the road less traveled as a prospect, from St. Andrews to the University of New Hampshire to Kingston and finally to Erie, where he has had a terrific half season and Memorial Cup run for the Otters. The forward is a swiss-army knife type of player, as he can be inserted into the lineup in any position, at any time of the game and thrive. Foegele provides energy at even-strength, penalty killing prowess when shorthanded and has the ability to score with the man advantage. He earned the Wayne Gretzky Award, which is given to the OHL's Playoff MVP en route to a OHL title and a Memorial Cup birth. The former third rounder has signed his entry-level contract with the Hurricanes, and could move quickly through their system due to his style of play and reliability.  He will likely start the season in the AHL with Charlotte. Kevin LeBlanc

November 2016 - The Kingston Frontenacs forward has been impressive this season in just 12 games, posting 15 points. He is Kingston's best player on most nights, and will likely finish the season as the teams leader scorer if this pace continues. Look for Foegele to graduate to the AHL's Charlotte Checkers next season, where he will be a top nine asset. Kevin LeBlanc

December 2015 – Following a strong freshman season at the University of New Hampshire (16 points in 34 games), Foegele decided to make the switch to the Ontario Hockey League five games into his sophomore year. In 15 games with the Kingston Frontenacs, the young forward has 14 points while adjusting to his new team and league.   Kevin LeBlanc

June 2014 - The Carolina Hurricanes selected Warren Foegele 67th overall at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Brendan Ross

June 2014 –After experiencing a half-foot growth spurt and a strong season playing for St. Andrew’s in the Ontario prep hockey circuit, Warren Foegele has scouts enamoured with his long-term potential. Born on April Fool’s Day, Foegele isn’t fooling anyone as he is projected to be a top 75 selection at the 2014 NHL Draft, despite playing in a non-traditional league during his draft season  An explosive skater and tenacious forechecker, winger Warren Foegele racked up 58 goals and 107 points in 52 games with St. Andrew’s. He isn’t overly creative in possession and projects as more of a shooter than a playmaker with his heavy accurate shot. Foegele is committed to the University of New Hampshire. Brendan Ross
