Victor Mete, D

Shoots: L

Height: 5-10

Weight: 181

Born: 1998-06-07

Hometown:  Toronto, ON, CAN

Drafted: Montreal, 100th overall 2016

September 2016 - Mete was one of several Canadiens prospects to be sent down to their respective junior teams prior to NHL training camp opening up. Upon returning to London, Mete will be their number one defenseman as the club awaits the potential return of Olli Juolevi from Canucks training camp. Regardless of Juolevi's fate, Mete is going to have a big year for the Knights. Mike Barrett

June 2016 – Concern about his size caused the explosive blueliner to plummet to the fourth round in spite of eye-popping skill. Mark Allan

March 2016 – Mete had an impressive rookie season in the OHL with the London Knights scoring 23 points in 58 games before breaking out in the post-season with eight points in ten games. In his sophomore season and draft year, Mete has continued to improve and is a little under the radar on a powerhouse Knights team loaded with high profile draft eligible prospects. Mete is very small, even by junior sandards and in the past would never have been considered a candidate for the NHL. But his elite skating and puck carrying abilities fit in today’s NHL so he has a chance. Mete has a reputation as an offensive minded defenceman, but his defensive game is very understated. He uses his mobility effectively and finished the season with a plus -53 rating.

Fantasy Outlook: B-

An undersized, offensive-minded, puck-moving defenceman. Excellent skating, vision, playmaking, positioning but needs to grow and add strength.
